God guided us to do the right thing!

So, in the last post I told you all that we were giving our new race car to the Janis family and we were unsure where we were headed with our racing operation. Since then, a bunch of stuff has happened and we feel super good about our direction.

Last week the Janis’s drove from Lancaster, NY to Texas without stopping to rest until they were about an hour away! That is a 22 plus hour drive. I thought we were crazy!

They arrived on Thursday morning and got to see our place for the first time. It was fun giving them a tour of our place and showing them all of our crazy projects and hobbies. I am not sure they really understood what we were all about until they saw our place, things, animals.

We had a great time but the most fun thing was showing them their new car for Mike Sr. to drive. Watching them looking over, planning, and packing it up gave Traci and I a peace about our decision to give up the car and the dream. The car is in the right place with the right people. In hindsight, I kind of think that was what we were supposed to do all along. I have always wanted to be a part of their team and help in some way. Now we know our role!

It is going to be so exciting to watch them race the car next year. I can guarantee you, the car will be competitive with Mikey tuning it and Mike driving it. I know Mikey has missed watching his dad drive at national events. I am pretty sure that Mike has missed driving too.

We also picked up our hub dyno about a week and a half ago. We thought we were going to let the Janis’s take it home with them but after some discussion, we all decided to leave it here, let me learn how to use it on my cars, and do testing for them with my car and occasionally with them coming to test here.

Once I learn to use it on my cars, we will work together to test their engine/ blower combos. That will be a super fun thing for me to do. I love our plan to work together!

I already test fitted The Resurrection Project on the dyno and figured out where we are going to do our test pulls.

I have a lot to learn but in one day (today) I hooked the dyno up for the first time, got all of the sensors working, and did a baby pull on the dyno with The Blue Banana. I did not put much load on the car at all, I just wanted to make sure everything worked. It was a very successful day!

Now I will learn more, ramp up the loads and get The Blue Banana running as good as I can before putting the ProMod on it.

For the first time in a few months, I feel good again about our racing operation. I also could not be more excited to be more involved with the Janis family operation. We hope and pray that we can help them to improve their program in some small way! If nothing else, we will be their most enthusiastic cheerleaders! We are going to try and go to as many of their races as we can.

Big things are on the horizon. They look different than we thought they would but then again, God’s plan is always better than mine.

Luke 1:37, For nothing is impossible with God.
