The "Dream" is finally attached to a "REAL" plan

It has been a long time since I have done an update because lots of crazy stuff was happening in our lives. Hurting my knee and having to have ACL replacement changed everything for us!

That single event made us really think about our age and how vulnerable we are now at 64 years old. I was on crutches for two months either waiting for our medical system to get me in the que or healing from pretty significant surgery for a 64-year-old guy!

We especially thought about our hobbies and our big dreams and goals. Which ones stayed and which ones went!!!

Electric unicycles are definitely not in my future after the accident I had (according to Traci), ha!

I got a new Yamaha YFZ450R Quad (ATV) to keep from going insane and to give me a way to do "physical therapy" while I was on crutches. It actually played a big role in getting mobility and flexibility back in my knee. I was never really into Quads but when you can't ride a dirt bike, it is the next best thing.

Yes, It is GREEN!!!

I am keeping a dirt bike to ride once the doctor gives me the OK (he told me 6 months from surgery), but I will probably downsize the fleet of dirt bikes significantly.

Waterskiing is probably a thing of the past, but we will have to see how good the knee feels after 6 months.

Riding my One Wheel is probably the same, wait and see!

That brings us to our dream of qualifying a Pro Mod race car at a race. Traci and I have prayed and prayed about how we can safely run and maintain a Pro Mod car and do it with only two inexperienced people. The outcome after many discussions was the
"Dream" was over!

We had to be realistic after seeing how long I was "down" with the unicycle accident. It put us behind on everything from home maintenance, our work for Axis, and our work on TOO MUCH GREEN.

We decided our only way to enjoy the world of NHRA Pro Mod racing was through our Janis racing family. Helping them was the only thing that made sense to us.

After talking to the Janis' about helping, they proposed a way for all of us to benefit. They have always known that my goal is to license and qualify at a national event. I never wanted to race full time but maybe 2-4 times a year. Their solution was an amazing idea that helps both families accomplish our goals while taking the burden off of Traci and I to do it ourselves! It was an answer to our dreams!

We agreed to their idea, and we agreed to pool our resources and work together.

They wanted me to pursue our dream, so they have taken all of our racing stuff to New York. There is not a single hot rod part or vehicle left at our house. Even the Blue Banana is gone! Feels kind of weird after all of these years of working on race cars ever night!!!

They are going to repower and refurbish TOO MUCH GREEN to be a competitive NHRA car in their spare time, while I am healing. They are going to take complete responsibility for teaching me to drive, getting me licensed, and supporting us in 2-4 races per year. They will get TOO MUCH GREEN to the races and provide the support while we are there.

Traci and I are over the moon happy to have them helping get us to our goal. It is truly a dream come true to get to race with them while supporting their goal of winning championships with Mike Sr. driving the 67 Mustang. Having them running our race efforts is so comforting to Traci and I.

We upgraded our motorhome to a newer one so we could travel to more races and spend time with them at the track participating in their quest for a championship and when the time is right, accomplish our dream!

We just got back from our first trip to Gainsville, Florida to watch the Janis' and we love being at the track with them!!!

God has been guiding both families to this solution for over 6 years. It took me a long time and a lot of detours to realize this was where he wanted us to go. I think the same kinds of things were going through the Janis's minds as well.

Nothing makes us happier than being involved with this wonderful racing family and have them get me over the "finish line".

God's plan is truly perfect!

There were times when I thought we would never accomplish the goal. Now I know that God always had our backs, and we just had to get out of his way.

Luke 1:37 For nothing will be impossible with God!!!!

We have been coming to this plan for years and didn't even know it!

God leading us here one step at a time!

We are still going to be "TOO MUCH GREEN"

God was leading us here all along!

Operating out of this trailer is just an amazing development!
