The Second Best Thing I Have Ever Done

The best thing I have ever done is accept Jesus Christ as my savior. The second best thing I ever did was marry my Sunshine. I am convinced the second best thing would not have happened without the first one happening.

This month has been a big month for us. On May 15th, we have been married for 42 years. I don’t even want to think what my life would have been like without my Sunshine!

I could be wrong but we may have aged a bit!

Just two kids in love!

This month we also drag raced for the first time in about 4 years. We had lots of issues with “The Blue Banana” to work out and even more issues to work out with the rusty driver!

All in all it was a productive weekend and we actually went 3 rounds in the second day of racing! The new electronic fuel injection still has some issues but we worked out a big part of them and the car is back to running in the 4 second range in the 1/8th mile.

We went out to test again last weekend and improved a little more. Traci and I are getting back in the groove again!

We continue to make progress on “The Resurrection Project “ as well. I am currently assembling and rewiring the car to test fit everything. The new screw supercharger is on the engine and I have built all of the hoses to connect the fuel system.

So far, everything is fitting great! The car is so much lighter and cleaner now. Servicing and getting in and out of the car is so much easier now!

Because I moved almost everything on the car to make it lighter and better balanced (front to rear), I basically had to start over rigging the car. New fuel plumbing, new air system, new wiring, and new safety equipment!

I Fabricated this new fuel pipe from aluminum tubing

New electronics tray I made out of carbon fiber. It looks bad because of the protective plastic. Much lighter and neater than it was before.

Pneumatic controls fit on top tray, electronics on the bottom.

All of the wiring is just hanging there. It will be neat and clean when I get it rewired.

Once I get everything rigged, I get to take it all apart again to final weld all of the brackets, etc.

We hope to be ready to run the car later this year but that may change because of a new project our company has (good problem). This project requires that I am fully engaged for the next 3-4 months. I am glad I can help but I only get to work on the car on weekends pretty much. Again, good problem to have!

As always, God provides more than we deserve. I thank HIM everyday for all of the things HE blesses me with!

Luke 1:37, For nothing will be impossible with God!
