2022 Comes To An End, 2023 Is Going To Be Amazing!
There just about 45 minutes of 2022 left as I am doing this update. It has been an interesting year that had mostly good things happen but a few not so good. I try not to even think about the bad things and just move forward!
We have made good progress this year with our journey and are full steam ahead. Yesterday was a rough day because we had to put our kitty Atticus down after being with us for 20 plus years. He was a tough guy until the end but was just worn out!
Mr. Atticus will be sorely missed. He literally spent thousands of hours helping me work on motorcycles, cars, boats, and anything else that was going on. He was low maintenance and just wanted an occasional pat on the head.
He was a survivor and lived with two bullets in him from a neighbors pellet gun in our old neighborhood. One put out his eye and one was in his side. After that, we kept him inside the shop or in his cat habitat to keep him safe. He declined quickly in the end but would not give up so we chose to end his pain. Tough decision for sure!
Enough sad stuff! Now I want to talk about 2023. 2023 will be the year we accomplish all of our racing goals!
Our chassis and engine are going to be ready to pick up at the end of January or early February. Traci and I will take the small (newly updated) race trailer and drive to New York to get the engine from our friends, the Janis’s. Then we will drive to Illinois you pick up the chassis and body and then head home to get started building the new car. I cannot wait!
I continue to make progress on “The Resurrection Project”. The new headers are now finished and the body is trimmed to fit around them. They turned out nice!
Now for something new and exciting. We are buying a Dynocom hub dynomometer so we can test and tune our cars right in our shop. These are amazing pieces of equipment capable of handling over 7000 horsepower. They connect to the race car directly to the rear axles and put a simulated load on the car using electric brakes. This simulated load allows you not only tune the car under race like conditions but also simulates the stresses on the whole car.
This is truly a game changer that will allow us to be very prepared before going to the race track.
We will also be able to help the Janis family test and help other racers once we get the hang of using it.
Here is a video showing how they work:
As I finish this post, it just turned into 2023! I cannot wait to see what God has in store for us in 2023!
Luke 1:37 “For nothing is impossible with God”
I will miss our Atty. He was such a good boy. But 2023 will be amazing, I know it! Love y’all!
ReplyDeleteOur condolences for Atticus... never an easy decision. But yes, 2023 is gonna be great! Praying everything stays on schedule and goes according to plan!
