A lot of “real” work and a little race car work!
The race car progress was on hold because of one of our new projects with our business. This particular project requires me to be heavily involved writing equipment operating procedures. I went for about 6 weeks without touching a race car and I have had some severe withdrawal symptoms.
Because everything has been put on hold, I assembled "The Salvation Project" (new car) and put it all in the race trailer to protect it from dust, rust, and kitty cats. Mostly I put it up to keep me from seeing it every time I walk into my shop and remind me that my schedule is slipping more every day. As you have probably figured out by now, early next year isn't going to happen for "The Salvation Project"!!!
The “real’ work is still pretty daunting, but we have made some significant progress on that front. I have had lots of help every day at my desk while I write one operating procedure after another.
Willow is big help!!!!
Summer yard work on 26 acres also eats up a bunch of time too but that is slowing down with the 4-6 weeks of 100 plus degree weather we are having and NO rain.
For the last couple of weeks, I have been able to work one or two days each weekend and make a little progress on "The Resurrection Project". It has been nice to get back to working on race cars. I have been focusing on “The Resurrection Project” because it is closer to being done than the new car.
As of today, I am two to three weeks away from having a little more time available because I am getting close to finishing my part of the new project for our company.
I found out last week that my chassis dyno is getting close to being ready to pick up and set up in my shop. I will have a lot to learn about using the dyno! I am going to start learning by using “The Blue Banana”. I hope to learn how to use the dyno and get the gremlins in the electronic fuel injection figured out at the same time..
Once that is done, I plan on having “The Resurrection Project” finished and ready to put on the dyno. That will be a crazy experience and I hope to learn a lot about running and tuning a very powerful car.
Some of the progress I have made on “The Resurrection Project” is:
95% of the electrical work is done.
90% of the air system is done.
New shift tower fabricated out of titanium.
Front end trimmed to fit around the new screw supercharger.
New breather tank bracket (not the tank) made out of titanium. I love how those titanium welds look. Pretty blue rainbow color!
Although my schedule is slipping, we will keep pushing forward. With God's, Traci's, and Mike Janis Jr's help, we will accomplish our goals, someday!
Thank you GOD for the work and for getting to do the stuff I get to do. I am very blessed!!!
Luke 1:37, For nothing will be impossible with God!
Looking purdy! Willow is exhausted from all of the help she gives.
ReplyDeleteGreat to see an update. Was thinking about y’all just yesterday wondering how things were going. As you know it will ALL come together in Gods perfect timing. Regards, Denise & David
